Acupath Laboratories, Inc. operates a CLIA-approved, NYS-licensed, and CAP-accredited Diagnostics Division that includes Fluorescent in situ Hybridization (FISH) and Molecular Genetics.

F.I.S.H Technician *Willing to train*

Acupath Laboratories FISH department is growing and therefore a position is available immediately for a laboratory technician in this part of the laboratory.

Duties:

-Day to day routine laboratory specimen processing

-Completes routine testing and analysis utilizing fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH)

-Performs non-analytical laboratory tasks as required with minimal supervision.

-Identifies problems in department laboratory systems and in communication with the technical staff, develops and implements and documents any corrective action taken.

-Actively participates in the department quality assurance and quality improvement programs and adheres to policies and procedures developed for the department.

-In collaboration with other technical and analytical staff, troubleshoots analytical problems by instituting appropriate corrective actions.

-Maintains and assures a clean and organized workplace.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a life science (Biology, Chemistry, etc.) required.
• Willing to train.
• Must qualify for NYS DOH license (completed a minimum of a B.S in a life science).
• Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail are required.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and maintain laboratory records in an orderly and comprehensive manner.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
